Brad Prosko Bio
Started guitar at age 12.
At 14, I began studying classical guitar under the tutelage of Mr. Ronald Ayre (ARCT). Studied under Mr. Ayre for 4 years and completed a Grade 10 in the Royal Conservatory program.
Attended the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood Calif. (G.I.T.) at age 17.
Have played with a number of diverse local bands ranging from contemporary and classic rock acts to tribute acts (Hollywood Vampires Tribute to Alice Cooper & Rory Allen’s Tribute to Elvis Presley) to contemporary country acts (CMT’s - Melainie Laine).
Provided freelance Engineering work for various studios around Sask. (Freedom Sound Studio, Touchwood Studio, and Sound Edge Studio).
Spent 4 years at Talking Dog Post and Sound Studio where my responsibilities included: Bg’s, SFX, Dialog Editing and Mixing for film, television, and commercials.
Started my own studio venture, B-Rad Studio, in the fall of 2002.
- Producer/Engineer/Mixer for SCMA Album of the Year Faster Gun’s “Back Again”
- Recorded/Mixed and Mastered Donny Parenteau’s “The Great Unknown” album that garnered me a nomination for Engineer of the Year award at the Canadian Aboriginal Awards in 2005.
- Engineer for John Corbett (Aiden’s Sex and City) for the track “Ain’t No Trouble to Me” ( a tune written by Jon Randall/Guy Clark) which was released on the Nashville compilation cd “For Kates Sake”. This was Produced by Garry Tallent (from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band) and Billy Block.
- Also won the VH-1 International Song writing contest Pop Song Category for the month of February 2007 with the song “Falling” written by Melissa Mannett and Myself.
- Recorded /Mixed and Mastered the “Nation Ukrainian Centennial Celebration 2005”. This was released as a double live cd and DVD in partnering with Global TV
- Also a Featured Artist for World Renown Software Plugin Company “Roger Nichols Digital”. For those unfamiliar with Roger Nichols he has recorded and mixed the likes of Steely Dan, Frank Zappa....etc. His credit list reads as a who's who of the biggest names in the music industry and has the Grammy Awards to show for it. To be sponsored by such a company is a true honor.
- Also recorded and engineered tracks on Frank Black’s 93-03 Album. Frank is from the legendary band Pixies.
- Also Produced/Engineered/Mixed Tom Ehman’s “Wheels of Life” album which featured Garry Tallent playing Bass on all 10 tracks.
- Creator of the Canadian Nashville Express Program. Through my friend Billy Block, we are able to offer Showcasing/Radio Interview/Gigging/Songwriting and much more in Nashville; Tennessee.
- Client Radio achievements include: Faster Gun’s “Annie’s Always Asking” reached #59 and Tommy John Ehmans “Stand Up for Your Country” reached #60 on the Country Music News “Top 100 CanCountry Hits” both in the month of Feb/March 2008.
- Received a nomination for Producer of the Year Award at the 2007 SCMA Awards.
- Received a nomination for Producer of the Year Award and Studio of the Year Award at the 2008 SCMA Awards.
